Dating in the 1940´s

I´m going to describe the first date of Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun.

They meet at the local carnival in the 1940´s. At that time dating in public places was becoming something normal among young couples. Although for grown ups was kind of a liberal revolution that was corrupting values among old teenagers.

He saw her and immediatly feelt the necessity to meet her personaly,so he reach her and ask her for a date ,which she refuse. She refuse at first becouse he was a complete stranger, obviously. Although they have friends in common.

Just after that some friends and she got to the Ferris wheel and during one turn he jump in her seat and ask her , again , for a date and she said again that no way.  He start playing around to scare her so she accepts , while the Ferris wheel kept turning. She was scared along with her friends that he may fall , she accepts.

They agreed but never settled the day of the date. After that they meet by coincidence in the street so he ask her when do the date take place and she responds that she is not going to date him , until he asks her in a clever way.

One day some friends in common arrange a double date. Ali and Noah and the two other friends.

They meet at the theather in the double date without them knowing they will see each other. After that they start dating and then they fall in love.

What Features Do Mexicans Consider Attractive?

What do mexicans consider attractive?...well that answer can vary depending on age , personal beauty opinion , the region or the "status" (this last one is very superficial, but sadly it exists).

What I say is beautiful to me may not be pleasant for others. Beauty depends on the eyes of the beholder , just like rightly in the book explains.

Attraction is more than physical attraction it also can be to presonality and so on.

For insatance ( concerning to physical attraction), the experiment that we made in the classroom showed that most of  the boys like the girls to be:

*60%   Brunette 

*40%   Blonde

*20%   Short Hair

*50%   Middle Hair

*30%   Long Hair

*70%   Wavy Hair

* 10%  Straight Hair

* 20%  Curly Hair

*50%   Blue , Green Eyes 

*50%   Brown Eyes

*50%   "Curvy" Body

*50%   "Flat"  Body

The girls like the boys to be:

*60%   Regular body muscule

*10%   Thin

*30%   Muscular

*70%   Brunette

*30%   Blonde

*60%   Brown Eyes

*40%   Blue , Green Eyes

*30%   Curly Hair

*20%   Straight Hair

*50%   Wavy Hair

* Approximately

According to this experiment we can say that mexican girls like regular body muscular guys who are brunette and have wavy hair  or that boys like brunettes who have middle wavy hair.

I found some statistics. Some of them say that women like guys who are masculine, mature , that care for grooming and have self -assurance more appealing than guys who are extremely handsome.

What is funny about all of this is that when you really fall in love you don´t care if he/she is blonde or not , or has blue or brown eyes. At the end you fall in love with him/her personality or maturity or whatever you like the most about that person.

Is true that you get impressed when you see someone that fits with the characteristics that you like, but that doesn´t mean that you love her or him , true love goes far from that.

Or it can happen that you found someone with the physical characteristics that fit with what you like and ...bum! he has the personality and the self-assurance you prefer... or whatever you prefer , so you fall in love with her/him. Everything can happen in this life.

I was thinking...if you say you like blondes in a country where being blonde is almost not common you are seen as... what is wrong with you girl?  and if you where in the U.S where there are blondes , brunettes and color people more mixed up it would be normal.

For instance I said I like blonde guys and people where like...what !?. I think that when I say blonde they think of the typical blonde american guy stereotype. Plus that doesn´t mean I will fall in love with a guy just becouse he is blonde. At first they made me feel as if I where superficial (becouse I like blonde guys) , but then I think about it and I came with a conlcusion. I just like that characteristic,and so what?. In adittion, as I just said before, if he is blonde or  not, if he has wavy or curly hair at the end all of that come to a second term when you really fall in love. At the end it doesn´t matter.

I think it depends on the culture you are how people are going to react for what you like.

But at the end it doesn´t matter what people think , what you like is what you like , regardless of what people think.

If I have to answer the question in the beggining , I will just say it depends of the person you ask to.

But the real answer is that anyone knows what is exactly atractive to mexican women or men becouse we all have our own prefernces regardless where you live , but I could give an answer when it comes to other mexican women or men feel attractions,with statistics on hand.

*For instance most of the mexican women  like guys who have self-assurance and maturity, regardless if he is handsome or not.

*According to statistics, its easy that a men rejects you becouse of your lack of personality than "your not perfect body".

*Statistics say that women are attracted to men that have...lets just say "enough to buy everything they want" money ( poor women that think that way), but they are even more attracted to men that are responsable , hard-working and that are economically independent or self-supporting , regardless how much money he has.

This Thing Called Love

The writer says that this couple feels hopeful and uncertain. Why do they feel that way?

They feel hopeful and uncertain becouse when you fall in love you get a hole new way of seeing life. Hopeful becouse you have the chance, the shot , of chanching your life for the good.The chance of having new experiences. Hopeful becouse you got all these dreams that you can turn into reality along with the other person. Uncertain becouse you don´t know if it´s going to last or if you are really meant to be.

The writer believes that romantic love can be found in all cultures. Do you agree? Why or why not?

Yes it can. Love transcends any cultural barrier or any barrier, and is not just a corny or trite idea or phrase. Is true that in many cultures romantic love isn´t taken as important as in others, but we are still humans who have love to give regardeless of  any culture we belong.

All you need is love

Just like the song says : All you need is love. When you have problems all you need is love. When you are distracted and you don´t see the beauty of life , all you need is love. Love is everything. Love is a lifestyle. Love is a feeling. Love can´t make you feel bad or sad. Love is a hugh. Love is a hello. Love is in every good action we do through the day. Love isn´t complicated. Love is fidelity and joy. Love isn´t confusing. God is love and love is God , so that´s way love can´t be complicated , confusing or any other bad thing we do or feel . Love is strong and tender at the same time.

There are so many "types" of love and there are so many things you can feel love for.

You can feel love for your parents. You can feel it for your family, freinds or neighbors.

You can feel love for your pet.You can feel love when you dance. You can feel love when you sing or play your guitar. You can feel love by just realizing you are healthy or anything you are greatful for.You can feel love for your car , for your clothes. When I talk about love for material things I´m talking about a healthy love , not bing obsessed with them in a materialistic way. You can be obsessed with someone becouse you think you feel love and it will still be as wrong as loving material things in an unhealthy way. There is a fine line between being materialistic and feeling love and gratitude for your belongings.

You can also feel love when you hear your favourite song or when you see something beautiful as a rainbow in a sunny day after it rains. Life has so many beautiful things for everyone. You just have to take good decisions and those good decisions can be taken easily when you feel love and peace in and becouse of them.
